VALZEO took part in the Global Bioeconomy Summit 2026 (GBS2026) at The Convention Centre Dublin. The summit was held under the Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Its theme was “Bioeconomy for socio-economic transformation and climate action”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two VALZEO colleagues represented the project. Mar\u00eda Rodrigo Moya, PhD researcher at Universidad Pablo de Olavide in Seville, works on natural zeolites as solar photocatalysts for water treatment. Mar\u00eda Dauder Amat of SITES Ltd in Dublin connected visitors with the consortium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the summit, VALZEO shared its brief for SMEs. It shows how rice husk ash, an agro-industrial residue, can become zeolite-based materials for water treatment and biodiesel production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 21 October, Ireland launched BioScale 2030, its first national bioeconomy strategy for 2026\u20132030. The strategy aims to “turn research and renewable biological resources into sustainable businesses, new markets and regional opportunities”. Read more in the Irish Farmers Journal<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BioScale 2030 matters for VALZEO. It backs the path the project follows: turning agricultural residues such as rice husk into products of value, and moving research towards real markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
