Driving Sustainable Innovation with Industrial Stakeholders

A dynamic workshop featuring the VALZEO project, presented by Leonardo Piccinetti, Valzeo’s Dissemination Manager, took place on May 7, 2025, during Macfrut 2025 (May 6-8, 2025, Rimini Expo Centre). The event brought together industrial stakeholders to foster collaboration, share best practices, and accelerate sustainable innovation across the agri-food value chain. Held as part of the renowned international trade fair for the fruit and vegetable sector, the workshop highlighted VALZEO’s transformative impact on environmental sustainability.
The VALZEO project (“Valorisation of agro-industrial wastes via the production of zeolite-based composite materials and their use in environmental remediation and biofuel production”) is pioneering solutions to convert agro-industrial waste into valuable zeolite-based materials for environmental remediation and biofuel production . With SITES as a key partner, VALZEO is advancing circular economy principles and sustainable practices in the agri-food sector.
Building on recent international engagement, Leonardo Piccinetti previously presented the VALZEO project results to the Cuba Chamber of Commerce and AGROINT – Empresa Integral Agropecuaria Las Tunas, in collaboration with AICS L’Avana. The workshop extended this dialogue, creating synergies and exploring new opportunities for collaboration.
