London, July 2025 – As part of the Horizon Europe MSCA Staff Exchanges project VALZEO (101086354), Prof. Francesco Fatone from Università Politecnica delle Marche (UNIVPM) carried out a secondment at ZPRIME, London.
The secondment focused on advancing risk-based monitoring and energy performance frameworks for water reuse and treatment processes. Key outcomes included:
- Designing a Health and Environmental Risk Assessment (H&ERA) framework in compliance with EU Regulation 2020/741.
- Developing ENERWATER-compliant energy audit tools to benchmark advanced quaternary treatments.
- Strengthening circularity and carbon footprint evaluation modules for greener innovation pathways.
This exchange highlights the project’s mission to link academic expertise with industrial innovation, paving the way for more sustainable and safe water reuse strategies across Europe.
