ECOMONDO 2025

VALZEO Partners from UAB and UNIVPM Strengthen Collaboration

RIMINI, ITALY – ECOMONDO 2025 served as a vital meeting point for the VALZEO consortium, facilitating key face-to-face strategic discussions. A productive meeting was held between the project’s coordinating institution, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), and key partners from Università Politecnica delle Marche (UNIVPM).

Assoc. Prof. Roberto Boada (UAB), the VALZEO Project Coordinator, met with Prof. Anna Laura Eusebi and Prof. Massimiliano Sgroi of UNIVPM.

As leaders of the project’s work on the laboratory-scale validation of materials (WP3), the UNIVPM team has been instrumental in testing and characterizing the novel zeolite-based composites developed by the project. Their expertise in environmental and sanitary engineering has been crucial in proving the materials’ effectiveness for applications like water remediation.

The meeting at ECOMONDO provided a valuable opportunity for the partners to align on the project’s final results, discuss the successful outcomes of the laboratory validations, and plan the next steps for disseminating and exploiting these powerful innovations.

“This collaboration is at the heart of VALZEO,” said Prof. Boada. “Meeting with Prof. Eusebi and Prof. Sgroi in person allows us to consolidate our findings and strategically plan how to present our final, validated solutions. The strong synergy between UAB and UNIVPM has been essential to our success.”
