VALZEO Shines at ECOMONDO 2025
RIMINI, ITALY – The VALZEO project successfully participated in ECOMONDO 2025, Europe’s benchmark event for the green and circular economy, held from November 4-7 at the Rimini Expo Centre. This significant presence provided an invaluable platform to highlight VALZEO’s advancements and foster crucial networking opportunities within the sustainable innovation community.
The VALZEO project’s cutting-edge results were prominently featured during the dedicated session titled “Sistemi Innovativi di prevenzione dei rifiuti e gestione circolare delle risorse” (Innovative systems for waste prevention and circular resource management). During this session, Chiara De Santis from Sustainable Innovation Technology Services Ltd (SITES), a key partner in the VALZEO consortium, delivered insightful perspectives on the application of Social Life Cycle Assessment (S-LCA) within circular economy projects funded by the Horizon Europe framework. Her presentation underscored the holistic approach VALZEO takes, not only focusing on technological innovation but also on the societal and ethical dimensions of circular solutions.
The event also saw the active participation of Assoc. Prof. Roberto Boada of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), the VALZEO project coordinator. Assoc. Prof. Boada engaged with attendees, shared the project’s successes, and explored potential collaborations, further strengthening VALZEO’s network within the European green innovation landscape.
“ECOMONDO 2025 was a tremendous success for VALZEO,” commented Assoc. Prof. Roberto Boada. “It was inspiring to see the strong interest in our work on converting agro-industrial waste into high-value materials. Chiara’s contribution on S-LCA highlighted our commitment to not just environmental, but also social sustainability, which is integral to truly circular solutions.”
The participation in ECOMONDO 2025 has reinforced VALZEO’s position at the forefront of the circular bioeconomy, demonstrating tangible progress in transforming research into real-world sustainable solutions.
