VALZEO Participates in the EU Food Safety Forum 2025 at CNR, Rome
Rome, 2 December 2025 — The VALZEO project was represented today at the EU Food Safety Forum held at the National Research Council of Italy (CNR) in Rome.
Ms. Donatella Santoro and Dr. Leonardo Piccinetti from SITES joined policymakers, researchers, and industry leaders to discuss the future of food safety, sustainable resource management, and the integration of science-driven solutions into EU food systems.
The forum, organized with support from European institutions and national research bodies, focused on strengthening food safety policies, improving traceability, and promoting circular and climate-resilient value chains.
VALZEO’s Contribution to the Dialogue
The participation of the SITES team offered an important opportunity to:
- Present VALZEO’s advances in transforming agro-industrial waste into value-added zeolite-based materials
- Highlight the role of innovative water treatment technologies in supporting safer agricultural production
- Connect with stakeholders involved in food systems, water quality management, and bioeconomy innovation
- Strengthen networks for future collaboration in EU-funded initiatives
With water quality and safe food production being closely interconnected, VALZEO’s research contributes directly to improving environmental standards and supporting sustainable agriculture—key pillars of the EU’s food safety framework.
SITES continues to ensure strong project visibility and strategic engagement at major European events, reinforcing VALZEO’s commitment to scientific excellence, policy relevance, and societal impact.
