Strengthen Sustainability Assessment at UNIVPM
As part of the Horizon Europe MSCA Staff Exchanges project VALZEO (Grant Agreement No. 101086354), Dr. Leonardo Piccinetti and Ms. Donatella Santoro from Sustainable Innovation Technology Services Ltd (SITES) carried out a secondment at the Università Politecnica delle Marche (UNIVPM), Italy.
The secondment focused on activities under Work Package 4, dedicated to the sustainability assessment of pilot-scale solutions developed within the project. During their stay at UNIVPM, the SITES team contributed to ongoing work on the social and economic dimensions of sustainability, supporting the integrated evaluation of VALZEO technologies alongside environmental and technical performance.
Key activities included strengthening capacity building in research management, exchanging expertise on integrated sustainability assessment methodologies, and supporting the analysis of processes developed for circular bioeconomy applications. These efforts contribute to ensuring that VALZEO innovations are not only technically effective but also socially responsible and economically viable.
This secondment highlights VALZEO’s commitment to a holistic innovation approach, where technological development is closely linked with environmental, social, and economic assessments. By fostering close collaboration between academic and industrial partners, VALZEO continues to enhance the impact, scalability, and long-term sustainability of its solutions at the European level.
